Spring is slowly making its way into our neck of the woods. It pops its head out for a couple 78 degree days at a time before retreating into a sullen overcast day, but we’ll take whatever we can get around here. With three boys you can imagine that we spend a lot of our weekends outside trying to get some energy out of them.
On Saturday morning we spent a lot of time outside bouncing balls and teaching them games we played when we were little. Soon enough we ended up out in the backyard wandering among all the newly blooming plants. Sure, most of them are weeds, but when you’re 6, 4 or 7 months old you only see the pretty flower you don’t question its value. Our backyard is next in line in our grand remodel so we’re determined to enjoy it until they start digging it up.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a big fan of bugs or lizards… luckily daddy isn’t afraid to help them go in search of the creepy crawly occupants of our yard.
When spring makes its way to your doorstep, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to get out and breath it in. Take a walk, take a run, cut some flowers for your living room, inhale the smell of grass and sunshine and jasmine coming into bloom. Life flies by so fast, and as one season turns into the other, I encourage you to stop and smell the roses.
