Guys,
I Cant. Even. Handle. How. Cute. This. Picture. Is.
I also can’t beleive my baby is already one year old, it seems like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant again. But the year flew by and we found ourselves on a sunny July afternoon celebrating our littlest Hollis. The theme? Well, Ford of course. I mean, if you have the name you may as well celebrate it right? In the “party tricks” section I try and share one signature element from a party. For this one, it’s got to to be the treat table. I hope it inspires your next celebration!
Pretty much the whole party centered around Ford’s cake…
I used a bakery here in Los Angeles called Susie Cakes their desserts are unbelievable and they agreed to make this custom creation for us. If you’ll remember, they also did the cake table when Melody got married.
One of the easiest ways to add a little special to your table is with dimension and height. I filled square vases with toy cars (luckily big brothers had plenty to share) because you know, Ford, cars… You get where I was going with it.
Another simple way to bring the eye line up is with a banner. This was literally the simplest creation ever! It’s card stock, washi tape and a bunch of ribbon I ran between two of those removable plastic hooks.
When adding to a dessert or treat table consider using things where you can easily incorporate the theme like these “spare tires”, mason jars with drink tags, or the popcorn in fun bags from Shop Sweet Lulu
Last but not least is the smash cake. I think every one year old deserves their own (in case you’re wondering it’s the term for a little cake that the baby gets to eat all by themselves). The bakery made this sweet little guy and Ford enjoyed every single bit!
