If this season is hitting you the way it’s hitting us then chances are you’ve spent your fair share of time fighting the tickle in your throat: enter the Hot Toddy!
A Hot Toddy is an old school classic, dating all the way back to the 17th century. But it’s a real gem for banishing the winter blues or calming your throat down if it’s inflamed. You can make your Hot Toddy with our without the whiskey and in small batches or double the recipe for a bigger brew to reheat as needed.
A hot toddy is said to sooth a sore throat and help suppress coughs. Whenever my throat is a little itchy, honey seems to always do the trick. Lemon is packed with helpful vitamin C and cinnamon is known to have anti-inflammatory effects. A lovely cup of this stuff will not only warm you up, but help ease you to sleep. And, it sure tastes a lot better than any of those over-the-counter cough syrups!
Cheers!
