If you’re going to take the time to make a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce, might as well make a large batch that you can save for later.
Fill freezer bag with sauce and remove as much air as possible before sealing the bag. (This helps prevent unwanted freezer burns.) Lay bag on a flat surface in the freezer. Alternatively, freeze the bags on a baking sheet tray to ensure the bag freeze flat. When freezing multiple bags, stack them to use minimal space. Freezing the bags flat not only utilizes important freezer space, it also helps speed up freezing and thawing times.
Be sure to label and date the bags. Frozen sauce keeps for 3 months. Simply thaw sauce, reheat, and toss with cooked pasta. In no time, you’ve got yourself a quick homemade meal!
