It’s been ages and ages since I’ve done a tutorial on how to make a centerpiece. Which is just a travesty, because an arrangement of flowers on the kitchen counter or the coffee table always brightens my home and my day. In this instance I want to show y’all how to make a washi tape vase. It’s a really simple way to add a little pizazz to an existing vase and the flowers themselves can be anything at all- clippings from your yard, grocery store bunches or even a perfectly arranged florist’s dream.
You can make a washi tape vase with any vessel at all but I think it looks better on a solid color. Choose as many patterns of washi as you’d like, just make sure the colors coordinate well with each other. Follow the line of the your vase shape, try a basket weave or a checkerboard- there’s no wrong choice here.
Add your flowers and then finish it off with a coordinating ribbon. It’s such a sweet look and easy enough that your kids can help you with it!
