I must admit I am a sucker for Skin Care products I don’t think of myself as high maintenance, but I do put a lot of work into taking care of my skin especially since I am always on camera. I don’t wear much makeup so I put a lot more effort into what’s going on underneath than I do the application of beauty product. So, when JCPenney asked if I would go to our local Sephora Inside JCPenney to learn about some new products and skin regime from an Area Education Manager, I just couldn’t refuse. I was able to Instagram story the whole thing but if you missed it not to worry I am sharing all the things I learned Today.
When I first sat down I let the Area Education Manager know all about my skin…how I have sensitive/dry skin and suffer from Rosacea so that she would know exactly what products to use. The best thing about Sephora is that there are so many products for all skin types so it wasn’t like she was trying to sell me on one specific thing. Also the best thing I found out is that this is free for everyone, meaning anyone can walk into a Sephora and can learn all about what are the best products for their skin. They will sit down and not just explain each thing but also try them out on your skin so ultimately you can be the judge of what works for you and what doesn’t.
She first started out my applying this Ole Henriksen 3-in-1 Melting Cleanser to remove any excess makeup I had on. What’s great about this product is that it moisturizes, brightens, and leaves the skin feeling smooth. Now I should let you know that I am a huge fan of makeup wipes. I am that person where once I get home I run to the bathroom and take off my makeup so I always thought that wipes were the easiest thing to do. However, what I learned from the Area Education Manager was that actually using a makeup wipe can pull your skin which ultimately causes wrinkles (and ladies we know we don’t want that) that’s why using a product like this not only removes your makeup but contains oils and vitamins that are beneficial for your skin. Plus, the best part is it smells like summer so of course I bought and have used it every day since. She then proceeded to add a moisturizer and oil from Ole Henriksen to help further brighten my skin.
In order to help my Rosacea she recommended First Aid Beauty Anti- Redness Serum. She said that this product is recommended for people with Rosacea or who usually get inflammation on the skin. It also acts as a good base before you apply foundation. Now I must say this product really worked. Y’all know I don’t really like wearing makeup but I usually have to because my Rosacea is on my cheeks so I only wear it to cover it up so when she used this product I was so shocked that it actually helped not only calm my skin but really smoothed it out.
Now I have to talk about my favorite part of the whole experience because I honestly didn’t think I would be this excited over makeup. After applying all the skin care products the Area Education Manager asked if I wanted to add any foundation on top and honestly I really didn’t think I needed it because the products she used actually worked on my skin but I knew I had to be on camera later that day so I thought why not but I let her know I don’t really want anything too heavy. She told me she was going to use either a BB Cream or CC cream. When she said this I thought she was speaking some type of code. But then she explained to me that these creams are way lighter than foundations. She said BB Cream stands for beauty balm which is more for oily and break out prone skin. A CC Cream is for color correcting which is what she used for me because generally this formula contains vitamin C and will also help with redness on my skin.
Then of course something magical happened in order to figure out the right color for the CC Cream she used a Color IQ device. Now when I saw this I thought it was something that she was going to do poke me with but no it scans the surface of your skin and assigns you a number to help determine the right color foundation, lipstick and concealer that is right for your skin tone, I am telling you it’s MAGIC!! And you too can do this too at your local Sephora Inside JCPenney again for FREE. Now once I got my Color IQ number 2Y05 she found the perfect CC Cream for my skin tone.
My match was Peter Thomas Roth’s CC Cream in Light/Medium. This product has Vitamin C and SPF which is perfect for summer and best part that it really feels like I am wearing nothing but it covers up by Rosacea which perfect! I seriously felt like J.Lo with all her glow. I also bought this product and seriously have been loving it.
This experience was seriously so great and was the Best Skin Care Makeover. I think you should all go check it out and take someone with you. And lucky for you Sephora Inside JCPenney is doing a Beauty Insiders Origins Event on 5/6 in select stores. So spend some quality time with your best friend or mom to celebrate Mother’s Day with a skincare consultation and a mini radiance-boosting facial of your choice. Then BEST PART is you get to go home with a FREE gift! I mean who doesn’t love that.
