Pull-Apart Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • I loaf of country white bread any hearty or crusty white bread
  • 5 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • freshly ground black pepper to season

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with foil. Set aside.
  • Slice a criss-cross pattern into top of bread, creating about 1/2-inch cubes. Do not slice all way through bread, stop about 1/2-inch from the bottom of the bread. Transfer bread to foil lined baking sheet.
  • In small bowl, combine melted butter, salt, olive oil, and minced garlic. Pour mixture over bread, separating the bread with your fingers to allow sauce to fall between the seams. Make sure the entire bread is coated with butter sauce. Distribute minced garlic evenly, tucking it into the seams.
  • Bake bread for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Combine three cheeses together and sprinkle over bread, making sure to tuck some cheese between each seam. Wrap bread loaf in foil. And bake for another 12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and discard foil cover. Set oven to broiler setting and allow cheese to brown for 45 seconds -1 minute. Be careful because broiler setting is very hot and can easily burn the bread.
  • Remove from oven. Garnish hot bread loaf with additional cheese and torn parsley. If desired, season with black pepper.
