Sure, we’ve all seen party streamers coiled and draped across ceilings at parties– but we think it’s time to try something new with this party decor classic. With their budget friendly cost ($1.49 each) and a little creativity, we’ve found a way to create a unique party entrance AND photo backdrop with these colorful embellishments. Reinvent the look of your summer party and turn those ordinary streamers into something extraordinary in just a few easy steps.
Supplies:
1) Streamers (an assortment of colors)
2) Scissors
3) Scotch Tape
Step-by-Step:
1 . Cut your streamers to size – Choose which doorway you want to hang your streamers from. Then hold your streamer roll from the top of the door and let it drape down to the bottom. Cut the streamer to your desired length. We let ours hang down to the floor.
2. Tape down your streamer onto a desk or other flat surface. We found that this was the best way to keep it in place while we worked our magic!
3. Cut the fringe – When cutting the slits be sure not to cut too far into the streamer because the material is fragile and might tear if you’re not careful. To avoid this, stop only a little more than halfway into the streamer.
4. Hang them up – It’s time to start hanging! Take 1 to 3 streamers with you at a time (if you take too many, you’ll end up with a tangled mess!) and attach each one to the top of the doorframe with some tape. We went with a color-blocked look, but the skies the limit. Rainbow, monochromatic, or all mixed together – there’s no wrong answer!
5. Spread them out evenly to avoid any unwanted gaps. To see more texture, slightly twist the dangling streamers with your hands when you are done. It will flaunt those edgy flair finishes!
