20 autumn seating 1

I love a good seating card.

I mean, 15 extra minutes spent creating a place card can bring your whole table to life! It’s sort of like this, if your table was a face, the seating card is like the perfectly smudged eyeliner… sure, it takes a little extra time, but Lordy does it make a world of difference!

Since this time of year is ripe with dinner parties, cozy suppers, and Thanksgiving just around the corner I wanted to pull together some inspiration for you all. Some of these are simple, some are crafty but all of them will dress up your table even if you don’t do any other decor.

Love this bit of whimsy from A Fabulous Fete . The gold curlycue on these pumpkin place cards will take a little extra time so I suggest this one for a smaller gathering.

I’m a big fan of vintage bottled sodas and when paired with a wooden tag like these on Style Me Pretty it becomes the perfect piece for a fall gathering.

Sparkly Leaf Placecards - The Chic Site

These Sparkly Leaf Place Cards are something I made for the Nate Berkus Show… they’re fun because you tie them to the back of the chair instead of placing them on the napkin.

Another play on the leaf theme… Writing on the leaf and tucking it into a fork like Organize Your Stuff Now did.

This place card from Stand Tall Design is so simple, but so pretty. Consider swapping out the poppy for a seasonal bloom.

And speaking of kiddos… I had to include at least one and I chose these cuties from Spoonful.

This little twig is from Martha Stewart. Just create the cards with some card stock and your computer and then gather twigs from your yard or the local park.

Another option for gold? Spray paint toy animals like Parties for Pennies did.

Your party favor can also serve as your seating card like these on Wooden Blog

I also love the idea of hanging the favor off the back of the chair like Whipperberry did.

This simple gift tag paired with a sprig of leaves from Glitter Guide would be a great way to add a pop of color to a table with muted tones.
