The holiday season is such a special time of year.  I always enjoy decking the halls in my home!  But the un-decking is something I kind of dread.  So over the past few years I’ve started incorporating more winter decor rather than Christmas specific decor.  This way I can leave some decorations out until February.  It makes the un-decking feel like less of a chore, and I get more bang for the seasonal decorating buck!  Win-win!

Here are 5 tips for getting the most out of your holiday decor.

1. Bring Nature In

Fresh greenery and pinecones say, “Hello Winter!” not necessarily “Merry Christmas”, so an arrangement like this could last way past the 25th.  And the added bonus is this will make your whole house smell winter fresh. Evergreen branches can last for quite some time if you remember to change the water every few days.

 2. Don’t Forget About Frosty

He won’t melt away on Christmas day; he can stick around until Cupid shows up.  Find the tutorial for this fun grapevine wreath at Made 2 Style.

3. Rock The Metallics

Consider using metallics in lieu of the traditional reds and greens for a look that will last until spring.

I mean if Eddie Ross does it  – you should too!

A fresh herb wreath will keep your home smelling great all throughout the winter months.

Rachel’s moss covered monogram and succulent wreath would also work great throughout the holiday season and beyond!
