Every year for mother’s day there’s a tradition… breakfast in bed. So this year as we get closer and closer to father’s day we had a fantastic idea… what if we changed it up for dad and brought him BBQ in bed?! Over at our house we just purchased a new grill, so this year for Father’s Day, I got Dave a bunch of personalized grilling essentials from Personal Creations to make him a true grill master!

I’m a sucker for a monogram and I couldn’t resist this custom cutting board with the letter “H”. You can use it to cut up your grilling essentials or serve up your favorite cheese and meat display. Then once I bought one thing with an “H” I couldn’t resist these custom mason jars!
When we moved into our house we named it “Bird’s Nest” because no matter where you go outside there are always birds chirping. Also we’ve always referred to our home as our nest, so it just became a thing. When picking out grilling essentials for Dave (and OK, for me too!) I thought it would be cute to get some things with our house name on them. So I found these great custom kitchen towels and this custom ice bucket which is going to get so much action this summer by the pool!
Last but not least, how stinking cool is this custom grill spatula? On one end it’s flipping burgers, on the other end it’s opening your bottle… it’s like the Swiss army knife of grill accessories!

I can grill up some of his favorites like our Italian Dressing Grilled Chicken or even this Grilled Guacamole and then serve them up on a new custom BBQ tray I got just for Dave.

OK, back to this BBQ in bed idea…
Pile up daddy’s new tray with all the BBQ essentials, and let him eat it in bed while watching baseball or old movies or whatever relaxing activity he’d like. This is such a great idea I sort of hope Dave repeats it when mother’s day rolls back around! Who wants pancakes when you can have brisket instead??
