I’ve been told I’m not sharing nearly enough puppy I’ve been told I’m not sharing nearly enough puppy content 🫡 I promise to do better. Oliver is 3 months old. He knows: come and sit and lay and we’re working on roll-over and heel. He’s the most energetic dog I’ve ever had but luckily we have lots of land for him to romp. Noah is his best friend. Cez is his deity. He sleeps with a stuffed puppy and never met a chew toy he didn’t love. He’s got to be the most perfect dog there ever was.
We moved into our dream home 4 months ago. It’s 16 We moved into our dream home 4 months ago. It’s 162 years old— a quirky Frankenstein of its various owners remodel attempts, carried out in long ago decades. I’ve dreamed about a home like this for most of my life. I have so many ideas for how to bring her back to life… so many that I sometimes overwhelm myself into immobility. The promise of how fabulous it COULD be keeps me from making it into anything at all.But I’m challenging myself to do the opposite. An attempt to get unstuck from the places I usually stay in far too long. So here we are. Not finished yet but miles ahead of where we were a couple of weeks ago. The rest of the house is still a bit sad and vibeless. But not the dining room! The dining room is a literal dream. I’m absolutely love how it turned out and I’m so proud of us 🥰
Any of you over 40 feel like the things that worke Any of you over 40 feel like the things that worked for you in your 20s and 30s are now basically obsolete? Like, I’ve got decades of experience figuring out how to get results and now they just… don’t work?Is this perimenopause? Am I having a midlife crisis? Unclear. But you know I’m going to work it out in my journal and create a full action plan. 😂Naturally, I’m planning my midlife crisis. There will probably be highlighters. In my new YouTube episode, I’m sharing which parts of my life are working, which parts feel stuck, and the experiment I’m starting to figure out a way through. You can watch the full episode on YouTube. And as always, if you can’t be bothered to go find it (fair), comment MID and I’ll send you the link.
Five books before the one that changed everything… Five books before the one that changed everything…I don’t want to make that sound easier than it was. Every one of those books was incredibly hard to write. Hard to edit. Hard to HOPE across the finish line. I poured myself into each one believing, maybe this time, THIS project would be the one to do well. And when it wasn’t? I was devastated.Finding the tenacity to try again didn’t make the disappointment less brutal. It just meant that eventually, after I let myself feel it, I got back up and tried again. That’s the part of success we don’t talk about enough. The years when you’re doing the work and nobody seems to notice. The projects that don’t take off. The dream you gave everything to that still didn’t work.So if you’re in that season right now, please hear me: the fact that it hasn’t happened yet does not mean you’re foolish for continuing to believe in yourself. You might not be failing. You might just be on book five.Keep freaking going. 🤟
