Embroidery thread is one of those craft items, like buttons or beads, that I always have a ton of leftovers and I’m always trying to figure out what to do with it later. I bought a ton of this colorful thread when I was making my Hand Stitched Journals, and it suddenly occurred to me that it would make cute wrapping embellishment AND require no bow-tying skill-set (of which I’m quite lacking).
It’s the simplest thing really… simply wrap your gifts in a neutral colored paper then choose some thread in a fun complimentary color and start wrapping. Make sure and overlap at different angles so it’s a bit more interesting, then you can tie the whole thing off with a little bow or simply tuck the end pieces into the other string and it isn’t noticeable at all.
The end result is bright and happy and oh so much sweeter for having used something you’ve got laying around!
