I, er, “inherited” these cake stands… which is my way of saying, I sort of swiped them from my Aunt Linda.
The thing is, Aunt Linda has the kind of vintage collections that would make the guys on Antique’s Road Show cry they’re so awesome. Old paintings and antique dolls, every piece of Fiestaware ever made, and an entire wall covered with vintage washboards… her house is the coolest and I have long fantasies of the day she finally let’s me start digging through the boxes in her garage! A couple of summers ago, my sister got married and she asked Aunt Linda for some cake stands for the cake table… what she got in return was a big box filled with these beauties. After the wedding was over, I didn’t rush to return the stands like I should have. I used them at baby showers and Easter brunch, I used them to store flowers and hold up books and suddenly a year had gone by, and well… possession is 9/10 of the law, right?
Eventually, I know I’ll have to return them, but until then… I just wanted to show you how gorgeous these are and maybe inspire you to start your own hunt for something similar. ~Rachel
