Here’s the thing about fashion here on The Chic Site… I don’t really like to showcase it. I don’t love it because A: there are a TON of really amazing fashion bloggers who have much cooler style than I do and B: I never, never, never want you readers to think you need to go and buy anything to be chic. Being chic is all about working with what you’ve already got! So when the team pitched some fashion-focused posts for this month I suggested that rather than show off something to buy, we show off how to wear the same article of clothing several different ways. Since I just happen to have recently found this lightweight army jacket and I’m mildly obsessed with camouflage and nobody on the team believed I could actually come up with four different ways to rock it out, I accepted the challenge! So here are my ideas on how to style an army jacket! ~Rachel
Seemingly the most inappropriate place to wear a camouflage army jacket would be as part of business attire but I think this totally works! A black pencil skirt, black booties and a white button down shirt all pair nicely when I’m wearing the army jacket like an oversized blazer.
Jackets are usually the top layer of your outfit but by adding another element (in this case a black vest) you can change up the whole look! I paired mine with an old concert t-shirt, some black skinny jeans and some of my favorite sassy heels!
This jacket was made for a weekend! If you’re heading to run errands or watch the kiddos in a soccer game consider pairing with shorts, booties, an oversized top and your favorite ball cap.
Who says you can’t wear camo to church? Belt your jacket over your favorite maxi dress and you’re ready to go!
