Last month we tried a new post about how to style an Army Jacket and you readers really dug it so I thought I’d try another item from my closet. Black booties are a staple of fall and I’ve had this pair for at least five years so you know I’ve worn them every different way. I’ve seen boots like this in every magazine on the stands right now so I thought I’d share some of the ways I style booties. Let me know what you think!
First up, style booties with a skirt! I wear these booties with skirts and dresses all the time because it gives me a heel without killing my feet. If I’m going out and plan to be on my feet all night there’s a 99.9% chance you’ll find these booties at the end of my stems. In this pic I style a full vintage skirt (similar styles are all over right now) with a black crop top and my favorite textured clutch.
Style booties with skinnies AND socks… almost everyone wears boots with skinnies but I love adding the extra layer of a fun print sock peeking out above. I saw this in Europe ten years ago and I’ve been trying to emulate the style ever since. Notice I didn’t go for a crazy bright sock that catches the eye, just something playful to add to the over all layered look.
In the summer I style booties with shorts, in the fall and winter I throw on a pair of tights and continue the trend. This look is fun because you can dress it up or down, add socks like the last look if it’s a particularly chilly day.
Lastly, I style booties with these blousy pants by rolling them up a bit… without a little skin showing at the ankle I’d look too short. I imagine this is a look I’d also wear with pumps, but you can easily rock it with a pair of booties instead.
