Father’s Day Gifts are tough, right?
I feel like at any given moment I could tell you all sorts of things I’d love to get: a dainty necklace from Etsy, a coffee pot (or old one is ready to die), gift cards to get coffee… really, the list is endless. But if you ask Dave, or my own dad for that matter, they have zero idea what they’d like or need. More often than not I end up getting something I think is cool (which starts gathering dust approximately twelve hours later) or something they can use (more than once my father has received the extra large peanut butter jars from Costco) and neither options leaves me feeling like I’d chosen well.
This year I decided I’d go with something Dave needs (a new men’s toiletry bag) but I’d make it something I like by getting one that’s engraved with his monogram. So cool! I’m all set to give it to him for Father’s Day and I’m pre-packing it with the things he’ll need on his upcoming trips.
I filled it with everything I could think of that he might use… including a few things he probably never knew he always wanted! Dave checks a bag for his trip so something like the nail file or the bottle opener will come in handy but if you’re packing for someone who does carryon make sure everything works with TSA regulations.
