slow cooker wings that are easy

We’re all a big fan of chicken wings over here at The Chic. We’re not, however, fans of deep frying them and then worrying about whether they’re cooked all the way through or not. Slow-Cooker Hot Wings takes all the work out of this classic game day appetizer and makes them not only healthier, but super easy to make. With just a handful of simple ingredients and a few hours, you’ll have a tasty snack that you can be proud of serving!

how to make chicken wings

We begin by cutting our wings. They usually come in a package as a whole wing, so you need to cut them into those two pieces. Then season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Then you’ll add the butter and hot sauce, and stir to evenly combine. Depending on how hot or mild you like your wings, you can add as much or as little of the buffalo sauce.

Throw the wings into a slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours. You’ll want to stir them every hour until they’re done.

Once the wings are tender, transfer them to a baking sheet (lined with foil for easy clean-up) and pop them under the broiler for a few minutes, on both sides, until charred and crispy. I like to brush the wings with more buffalo sauce on both sides before going under the broiler.

Serve the wings with a bowl of ranch or blue cheese dressing to cool them off a bit, and don’t forget about the celery sticks because that’s just classic.
