party dip recipes

Most of our popular dips are loaded with cheese on top and then baked to get that crunchy cheesy topping. Like our Spicy Corn Dip or our Grilled Jalapeño Popper Dip, for instance. This time around, we wanted to make a dip that didn’t require that extra step in the oven. So this Caramelized Onion Dip was born!

how to make an onion dip

We start by cooking down a whole lot of sliced onions. It might seem like a lot of onions for this one dip but believe me, the onions cook down and when they get caramelized they taste sweet, not strong at all.

Now let’s make the base for the dip. Just like our other dips, we’re going to make it with the same ingredients. Sour cream, mayo and cream cheese. It’s not the healthiest of dips, but it’s okay. We should live a little, every once in a while.

Add the hot caramelized onions to the dip base, and stir until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings accordingly.

making dip

I like to serve this caramelized onion dip with potato chips and if you’re feeling healthy, throw in some sliced veggies, like peppers, for dipping. That way you won’t feel so bad about eating this creamy dip. Enjoy!

Caramelized Onion Dip is super easy to make and tastes even better than that simple onion powdered dip we're used to. Made with lots of caramelized onions.
